Power Resistors can be used as very reliable heaters for electronic equipment housed outdoors in cold climates. Equipment like ATM machines, Security cameras, automatic locks etc have electronic circuits that may not be able to operate in very cold climates and may need to be heated constantly to keep clear of moisture and condensation.
Resistors can be designed with special housings and leads to allow for mounting in hard to access areas. Our PHA and Ceramic cased products can be easily used for these applications as they provide a barrier for the resistance element and protect from the high temperature of the wire and also provide a good electrically insulated surface for dissipating the heat into the cabinet or chassis.
